GLOBELINES SUCKS!!!

>> Friday, February 6

Let me just share my rant. Actually I sent this to Globelines a while ago. And posted this anywhere I can. Forgive the spelling and grammatical errors. I was fuming mad while writing this.. and my hands were shaking (actually that's my usual reaction when I'm really mad). Anyway.. here goes..

To Whom It May Concern:

I've been having problems with my internet connection for two weeks now. I keep calling your Customer Support and they are utterly useless! They couldn't even provide much help. One of them told me that there's a problem with my BROWSER that's why I can't open websites (all 3 of my browsers?! WTF?! Puuhllleease explain this to me!). I asked for help and assistance and he just told me that I WOULD BE THE ONE TO FIX IT NOT HIM! Now what kind of CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE IS THAT?

You are paying these people to handle customer complaints and help out anyway they can, and he REFUSED to help! Your internet service is a joke. Your Customer Support is of no use at all! If you cannot provide GOOD INTERNET SERVICES, then AT LEAST tell your Customer Service Representatives to be HELPFUL!!!

You certainly will lose your customers if you continue this kind of services.
I asked him if they are still having problems with their system or something, and he just told me that the problem is with my browsers. Gah! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! I said this before and let me say it again GLOBELINES EFFIN SUCKS!!!

Good Job! Love your rant! nyahahahaha! They also had the audacity to tell me that it was Leon's (my lappy) fault because it was out of date!! I yelled at them and told them I just bought my lappy from the US and they can't blame it on him! Anyway, they did home service and sure enough, it was THEIR fault! Nan!

I hope they reply Ehn! And give you great service! If not, at least give you a refund! Gah! Makaboang man na oi! I guess I'll be ranting about Globe na when I get home! :(

Anonymous February 7, 2009 at 6:28 AM

Hi Ehn, that's a lot of ranting. I do that sometimes. It is so frustrating. But I always think twice, I never write when I am upset. Sometimes, we may say unpleasant things and it will never help solve the problem. It might haunt us and "maybe used against us in the court of law". Haha! I am sounding very "legal". Anyway, I did a little research for you and check out the Globelines website: they have a new thing going called Click Fix. Maybe this will help solve the problem.

@Z: There really is something wrong with their system or something. Bro asked one of his friends who is working with Globe, and she said there really is something wrong with their system or something. And to think that CS was bold enough to tell me that there is absolutely nothing wrong with their system, and the fault is with me. Gah! I could just wring his neck!

@Ebie: I know. I shouldn't have done that. I was just fuming mad since last week. Actually someone came last Sunday to "fix" my connection. It went well for that day. Monday came and it went haywire again.

I wish they would just admit that the fault is with them. And not blame it on their customers.

Thanks for the link Tita. I think I'll try this one.

Globelines really suck!

Anonymous February 26, 2009 at 3:37 PM

Click fix help solve the problem ? click fix only provides the info in as a code form so you should not have to tell them what lights are not working on your modem, click fix is not going to fix your internet problems. I have a 3 mb data only line and its one problem after another, disconnects slow speeds, high latency and now dns problems that gives network timeouts on lots of sites. This network timeout problem is about a month old so i guess globelines can't or wont fix the problem. Globelines would like everyone to think that every problem can be fixed by sending their tech's to your house as if every problem starts in your house, the real problem they should be working on are the nodes (boxes)down the line, a simple trace route will show where the latency really jumps up when trying to surf.
If globelines would spend the money to hire some top of the line system tech's and spend the money to upgrade their system (like bury the phone lines underground)they could probably fix all their problems, that being said i think it safe to say you should get used to all the globelines problems cause they will not fix their real problems for several years. Best you can hope for is a new player in the internet game like some cable company moving to your area, dsl is near dead and the phone companies know it they are just hanging on trying to keep the profits going as long as they can while trying to keep cable out of their areas.

Anonymous February 28, 2009 at 11:26 PM

A more realistic description of Globelines DSL service.
Get Globelines dsl and surf the internet once in a while at speeds you are paying for, that is assuming we are not having one of our numerous system outages.
As a subscriber you can surf most of the internet but you need to be prepared for 20 to 50% of the sites you are trying to access to experience network time outs as we are having what appears to be a permanent problem with our DSN (Domain Name Servers)but as always, we resolve all problems within 24 to 48 hours because we have a system restoration that never ends.
If your problem persists past the 24 to 48 hours then allow 3 or 4 days and see if the problem fixes itself by magic. If you are still having problems feel free to call us again we will send a tech out to your house again to fix the problem within 24 to 48 hours.

Anonymous March 3, 2009 at 6:46 PM

Don't forget about the everyday system outage that happen around 6pm. Just about everyday in bacolod the system starts disconnecting and reconnecting every minute or so and lasts for about a hour sometimes longer. Globelines should be able to find the source of this problem but even after months of this it is still not fixed. Maybe a few months is not enough time for them to figure it out.

Anonymous March 3, 2009 at 7:40 PM

Today for example, globelines broadband internet service in bacolod, started losing connection at about 5:20pm and has been disconnected about 30 times in the last 2 hours. As of 7:45pm this problem is still going, disconnect reconnect disconnect. Globelines has to be the worst internet provider in the world, they seem to have no desire to fix any of their problems. They prefer to use the same excuse of system restoration like that's something new. Globelines needs to come up with some new excuses, after a few years the same excuse kind of stops working.

Anonymous March 5, 2009 at 8:33 PM

Another Globeline problem is whenever the electric power is lost even for a minute in bacolod it seems to really cause major problems for globelines. Just had one of the usual electric power losses here and now the internet is disconnecting and reconnecting, this has been going on for about 15 minutes so far but i have seen it take several hours before it becomes stable. Considering the way Ceneco and Globelines do business, it would be stupid for any other business to come here.

Anonymous March 6, 2009 at 7:37 PM

It really sucks! Bigtime. I wish they will fix it. I've had the same experience. I just wish I didn't sign up for this stupid company. I agree, their hotline people are the stupidest people I have talked to in my entire life.

Anonymous March 6, 2009 at 7:40 PM

I have internet and dial tone issues every month! If anyone's reading this... think twice before signing up for Globelines. Yeah they connect you faster than PLDT but once your in that contract, that's when all the problems start. And you are locked for 12 freakin' months.

"Your grammar is atrocious. Please spare us from your shitty meltdowns next time."

It's the grammar police, everybody run. You can always count on one retard who has nothing to contribute. Guess those anger management classes didn't help much.

Far as globelines customer service, i think their customer service rep's deserve alot of credit and respect. It can't be easy to calm down globelines customers who are getting continuous substandard internet. Here in bacolod, The customer service rep's are very nice and polite which is all you can really expect. It's not their job to fix the problems, They only generate and forward reports to the different departments. We all know there are some big problems on the tech side at globelines but their CS reps are not the problem in bacolod.

Anonymous March 9, 2009 at 8:07 PM

The sad reality of globelines as a internet provider is that they are not able to provide a stable internet connection for even 24 hours. There is no way that globelines broadband will work for even 1 whole day without losing connection. For example, my internet connection started having problems at about 3:30pm today and now it is past 8pm so for the past 5 hours the connection has been dropping reconnecting only to drop again. While typing this comment the internet connection was lost and is not reconnecting. Connection back up for a min now so will post while i have a connection. The sad thing is this is not unusual service for globelines, this is what you can expect pretty much every day, the only difference is at what time you will have a problem and for how long.

Anonymous March 18, 2009 at 5:43 PM

I absolutely 100% agree with you. I have been subscribing for 8months now.And now, how i wish i didnt!!!

I had not any internet connections since last week of january, and its been 2 months now, no internet connection at all, not a single second! I have spent a lot of money calling their customer services (i use my cellphone because i have no landline)and visiting their office and also i am consistently paying my bills even for that 1 month without any internet at all.Now i am on my 2nd month and i called them to ask if they will waive my bill for this month because of no connection ( not to mention their pathetic services), they said NO. WHAT?Now, that is definitely a no-no. The rep said that it will automatically be adjusted once the connection has been restored, i quote "automatic na magrereflect nman yan sa bill".The question is when will that be????!!!!*&^%$#. It means I am going to have to pay for the services that was never given?!!!

Globelines really should work double-time to make up for their poor services. For sure, they will loose many customers.

Now,i am applying for a different network. I hope it will be better this time. I am just waiting for this "lock-in period" to expire!
AND IF ANYONE WOULD ASK FOR MY OPINION ABOUT THE BEST INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER? DEFINITELY, NOT GLOBELINES.ITS LISTED AT THE BOTTOM!

Anonymous March 18, 2009 at 9:01 PM

I use a cell phone to report problems as well, can't even guess at how much money that has cost me so far, i don't even call most times anymore unless it has been out a couple hours.
Internet was off and on starting friday, called the tech line and was informed of a system restoration.
Internet worked for a few hours on tues morning then went back off afternoon for a few hours, back on for a couple hours, off for 7 hours, back on for 10 hours. Of course at around 6pm it became unstable like it does everyday for about a hour. Power winked off for 1 second so that made the internet unstable again for a half hour.

Globelines makes foreigners like me pay the year in advance, if it wasn't for the fact they already have my money i would of stopped paying them regardless of the contract.

Anonymous March 21, 2009 at 5:47 PM

hi We have a similar problem just today the globe people have finish the mauntenance for our internet connection the problem is brought about by their costumer service they can check our record Marchi 12, 2009.

Anonymous March 23, 2009 at 7:08 PM

Well globelines recent system restoration does not impress me much, still having the same problems such as totally useless internet starting around 6pm. Getting the same disconnect connect disconnect unstable internet we had before the restoration. Been disconnecting every 30 seconds for the past hour, Seems to me that any problem that occurs at near the same time every day would not take months to fix but i guess its too much for globelines to figure out and fix.

Anonymous March 23, 2009 at 8:31 PM

Starting to think globelines is just saying they are always doing things like system upgrades when in fact they are not fixing anything. My connection has not improved one bit in the 10 months i have been paying globelines. Its been unstable for the entire 10 months, my connection today has been disconnecting reconnecting disconnecting for 3 hours now, Maybe on the next restoration you guys at globelines might get lucky and fix something.

Anonymous March 24, 2009 at 2:24 PM

No internet at all last night, finally came back on this morning. Course even tho its back on it's been disconnecting every few minutes for the past several hours. If you had a business that depended on internet access your business would die a fast death with globelines as your internet provider.
Lost connection while typing this, way to go globelines.

If i bought any product from a store and the thing only worked half the time they would replace it or refund our money, not globelines tho, defective and broke is all they sell.

Anonymous March 24, 2009 at 8:59 PM

Another typical globelines broadband night here in bacolod. Internet disconnecting every 30 seconds for the past 3 hours so far. This problem starts every night somewhere around 6pm so i am paying 2ooop for internet that only works for a few hours during the day. Tech support informed me that i was not part of the system restoration altho for the past 2 weeks they blamed the problems with my connection on that same system restoration. Would be nice if globelines would provide what they are paid to do but i can see that's not possible gonna have to see if sky cable is offering internet.

ktd March 29, 2009 at 1:39 PM

Went from bad to worse, went from unusable due to disconnects every 30 seconds to a total loss of internet for 4 days. Was told by the customer service tech support staff different reasons for the outage every time i called.

With all the problems globelines has they still only have people working during the day, no night shift. If they had more tech's working for them maybe it wouldn't take 5 days to restore a connection.
On the plus side the tech's do a good job but i am sure globelines has more people working at the call center making reports and saying they are sorry then they have tech's. Seems to me it should be the other way around, having more techs would probably cut down on needing so many complaint takers.

Phonelines are effected by the weather/wind and because of that there will always be problems until globelines bury the phonelines underground.

ktd April 4, 2009 at 9:56 PM

Not 100% sure yet but this is the first day in a long time that my connection didn't turn to crap at 6pm. 2 days ago at 6:25pm lost internet due to disconnecting reconnecting every 10 seconds and that lasted for a few hours. Yesterday same thing starting at 6:15pm, lasted a hour.
Today globelines tech came over with a new modem, replaced the old prolink with a Aztech and then changed the Dns from auto to manual and inputted a couple of ip addresses for the primary and secondary.
Still to early to call it fixed but no problems so far.

ktd April 17, 2009 at 6:49 PM

Have to give globelines credit for a job well done, after the new modem and putting in the ip range the internet has worked for over 2 weeks without a problem. Now if it had not taken 4 months to fix that would of been so much better. Ever since Jan 09 the internet was going out for hours every day so even tho it took way to long to fix good job globelines on finally fixing it.

Anonymous April 22, 2009 at 3:58 PM

Well I just had mine connected last friday just last night I had no internet connection! it even haven't been a week!! dammit.

ktd April 26, 2009 at 4:42 PM

which modem did they give you the proline or the aztech?

ktd April 26, 2009 at 4:43 PM

oops, i think i meant prolink or aztech?

shenzee April 26, 2009 at 7:29 PM

they gave me prolink then replaced it with siemens after several months of complaints. it was good for a while. now my connection is back to being so slow..

joj April 30, 2009 at 2:58 PM

GLobelines sucks!!! I happen to have a 512kbps connection more than 2yrs ago since i availed a promo package... "Promo"?! Wtf! It was hell... TURTLE PACE INTERNET, DC's, network timeouts was all the rage in those days. So after the lock-in period i renewed my service and availed a 1mbps connection with the notion that even if i had slow connection i could still get 512kbps w/c is 10% less than the 60% connection they give us. It was okay until the lousy technicians came to repair our internet connection because of high ping rates w/c until today cannot be resolved! After that the speed got reduced to 384kbps- a speed i never even applied!? WTF!!! Until now i'm still waiting for their so called systems enhancement w/c is long overdue!

ktd May 12, 2009 at 11:15 PM

Hey Shenzee, in the local area connection properties check the internet protocol TCP/IP properties.
Is the DNS server set for automatic or is there an ip address in the preferred and alternate DNS server ?
Mine use to be auto but when they gave me the new modem they put in some ip numbers into the preferred and alternate areas and i haven't had a problem in the past 2 months.

ktd May 12, 2009 at 11:55 PM

Appears the high ping problem is caused by internet service providers down the line such as congentco. A trace route showed my ping jumped up when it hits hop 8 (220ms) which is a node in Makati owned by globe. From there is gets worse when it hits the nodes owned by cogentco, heck i have to go thru 10 nodes owned by cogentco all pinging in the 200 to 400ms range. Then a few more 400ms plus nodes until i hit my target site.

yummyboy99 May 15, 2009 at 12:59 PM

what can i say to globelines internet?? well all i can say is FUCCCCCCKKKKKKK GLOBELINESSSSSSSSS!!!!
thats all....

ktd May 16, 2009 at 12:04 PM

Couple of days ago i noticed my p2p download speeds have been capped at 65kbps. Did some checking and found i am not the only one who got p2p downloads capped. Appears in the contract it states that p2p downloads are capped at 20% of your package speed. Hope this doesn't stay in effect or may look around for a different service provider.

Here the link.

http://www.alexmaximo.com/2009/05/is-globelines-really-enforcing-a-p2p-download-cap

ktd May 23, 2009 at 5:48 PM

The cap on the p2p downloads only lasted for a few days, downloads are back to normal. Not sure why they did it in the first place but not only did it slow down the p2p but it effected other things as well like streaming video from yahoo and youtube. Globe may try it again someday who knows.

Anonymous March 1, 2010 at 4:26 PM

Guess we have to wait for cable to get a good connection for gaming. My ping (latency) to a node less than 50 miles away is 80ms and it jumps up to 300 - 400 ms to any node further away so not good for online gaming. All the Dsl providers will lose all their business when cable is available for the same price no question about it.

Anonymous March 15, 2010 at 4:39 AM

Got a globelines 3mb line so i could play online games like wow but the ping is high so gaming sucks. This is globelines top of the line dsl and it sucks azz for gaming. Latency in game is usually in the 350ms to 650ms range but of course it get much higher at times. Even pinging www.globelines.com.ph the ping is average 281ms.

Ping test results to a node less than 50 miles away.

Grade D - Most online applications will not perform well but should function in some capacity.

Globelines DSL sucks

ktd August 16, 2010 at 1:50 AM

My latest encounter getting my connection fixed. Called on tuesday morning Aug 10th 2010 reported no dsl signal, the call center employee apologized and told me their tech's would fix the problem as soon as possible.

Called Wed morning asked them when their tech's were gonna start working on my connection, The call center employee said a tech would come to my house sometime today Aug 11th. Waited all day no tech showed up.
Called the 211 tech support call center Thursday morning and told them no one came on wed, the call center employee apologized and said i would now have to wait 12 days for another on site visit.I informed the call center employee that i would cancel my account before i wait a total of 16 days for someone from globeline to start working on my connection and that's dependent on if they even show up this time as scheduled.

Decided to stop wasting my time with the Globeline technical support hot line and went down to the local office at 1pm. Talked to a rep about the problem and he made a phone call and told me a tech would come to my house. A repair team showed up about 4pm and checked the telephone pole outside and there was no signal which means the problem was between that pole and the facility box. The
tech informed me that they didn't have a key to open the box so they would tell some other tech's to check the box on Friday.
Woke up Friday morning and my connection is working.

To recap

Tues - no attempt to fix my connection

Wed - no attempt to fix my connection and a no show on the on-site visit.

Thurday - Repair crew shows up at 4pm not prepared or equipped to fix a internet connection.

Friday - Connection restored at around 9am.

It took Globelines 4 days restore a internet connection that could have been fixed in 15 minutes. I had to call numerous times which were a total waste of my time and had to go down to the local office in person to get them to start working on the problem.
As a customer paying for a service i find this level of service unacceptable and globelines needs major improvement in the way they service their existing accounts.

1. I don't need a call center employee to tell me their tech's will fix the reported problem when in fact no one is working on it.

2. When a on-site visit is scheduled it would be nice if someone showed up.

3. Reporting a no show from Globelines on-site visit the next day and informed that since the tech
did not show up i now have to wait another 12 days for the next available tech is just retarded.

4. When a repair crew goes to fix a connection problem they should be prepared and equipped such as having a key to open a box.

5. Globelines need to staff their tech support call center with people who are able to do more than and generate reports, they should be able to make a phone call and resolve problems instead of saying sorry our tech didn't show up but now you have to wait 12 more days for the next available tech.

6. I should not have to call numerous times to coordinate the repair efforts on my connection, I should not have to make a on-site visit to the local Globelines office in order to get a 15 minute repair job done. If i had not done these things Globelines technical support hot line employee's would have me waiting an additional 12 days on top of the 4 days i had already waited for another on-site visit that they may not show up for again.

The repair process that Globelines currently employs appears dysfunctional and broken in it's current state.

Sunday afternoon and i can connect to most sites but still only getting 30% of the speed.

To recap...

First report problems to Globelines on Tuesday Aug 10, 2010 its now Sunday Aug 15th and still not fixed.

Globelines has alot of excuses but i really can't understand why a major telecom like Globelines needs weeks to fix a internet connection.

Hi Filipinos,

I am here in Long beach California today running on charter cable connection 30mbps and it has been working well since i got it a few months ago it costs $39 per month here I was just looking for a fast connection in the ph because Monday i will be flying to Manila to meet some of the nicest people on earth, and I hope I can find a good connection. Well have hope technology is coming there someday soon I hope. We were running at slow speeds here too a while back.

Anonymous November 17, 2015 at 4:20 PM

It's the end of 2015 and nothing changed, internet is still slow and expensive in the Philippines.
If you are rich enough to pay around 200 dollars a month for internet you can get 100mb speed with data caps meaning you can only download 100 gig a month if you go over they cut your 100mb speed to 64kb for the rest of the month plus there is a daily cap of 3 gig that gets your speed cut to 64kb until the daily reset.
Want decent internet ? go to one of the other countries in the area.

2018 update on Globelines internet in Bacolod City.

A couple months ago Globelines sent out people to put flyers in our gates about high speed fiber connections (50mb,100mb,200mb). Went to the local office to sign up and was informed that they don't have fiber connections in Bacolod City. Asked them why they are putting those flyers in our gates and was told they hoped to get more people to sign up for their 5mb dsl package. So you guys are advertising products that you don't have and wasting my time. Sorry for the inconvenience. Trying to get a timeline on Globelines facebook was a waste of time (check back from time to time) is the only answer i could get. Why they are advertising products they don't have went unanswered.
